Fannypack is an accessories line focusing on Fair Trade goods. Currently, most Fannypack products are manufactured by the Bhopal Rehabilitation Group (BRG) in strict compliance with Fair Trade standards.
Why the BRG?
Back in 1984, a mistake at a Union Carbide plant sprayed 40 tons of lethal chemicals over the Bhopal community. Some 500,000 people have been affected in the fall out. We thought we’d support the Bhopal community and raise the standard for our industry by providing Fair Trade-standard jobs in conjunction with a team working to restore the people.
And why Fair Trade?
To keep a long story short, using underpaid twelve year olds just didn’t seem like an option to us. Sure, it costs more – but it was time for somebody to take a stand.
